P-52 Fighter Mustang by Mira-The-Lunatic P-52 Fighter Mustang by Mira-The-Lunatic

[link] This has some information on this particular plane, which, actually, crashed in 2004 during an Airshow. I am afraid i cannot do the aircraft's story any justice, with what little i know of it, and i cannot account for 100% accuracy in the article. However, most of it seems up-to-par with what i know.

(Please, tell me i have the name right, and i didn't get the plane's name mixed up with the B-25 bomber, AGAIN? >___<)
At the CAF, Commemorative Air Force, they are a WW2 museum dedicated to the preservation and such of the vehicles and aircraft.
I have had so many amazing experiences there, including ogling my personal favorite plane, the P-52 Fighter Mustang.
There is a story behind the Tuskegee Airmen and the 'By request' on the plane, i suggest you do some research on it if you don't already know.
I actually used this picture to reference for a painting in school, last year. the plane turned out amazing, and so did the sky... the ground, though...
...ruined the whole thing, i did x_x
I wish i could get up to the CAF more often >___< I feel like an undedicated member for not being up there more often and helping them out with whatever tasks they have for me to do ;_;

I bet they were great experiences for you :) What was the story, if it isn't too long to tell?

Alright. Well, it takes place on my second time ever being to the CAF. This is when my dad was still a photographer, and he invited me to come to some photo shoot. I wasn't interested until he mentioned it being at the CAF, and i was all; 'DUDE WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO? *_*'. So i went~
They were shooting pictures of WW2-style pinup girls on all the vehicles and planes, xD''''
Anyways, i was pretty bored that day, after i had exhausted the small museum and was hanging in back listening to the models talk and wishing i had brought my sketch book. Actually, check that, i think i had brought it xD
The makeup artist ended up doing my hair up in a brushed-up mohawk and david-bowi-like eye makeup. And lots of glitter... so... much.. glitter... And actually, the look looked pretty darn cool. it as very punk, xD
Anyways, Amy was there, and she was all; '*w* Your a girl and your interested in all this HEEEY WANNA BE A MEMBER?'
Now, a bit of info;
I had already learned that their very precious P-52 had a very unique story behind it, one i can tell you later, if you ant. It has been rebuilt twice, i think. Definitely rebuilt once, after it crashed.
Anyways, well, the photographers were not allowed to come within ten feet of the plane. Maybe 15, just to be safe. It was the no-touchy-touchy plane.
And then Amy is all...
...Hey, Mira, wanna sit in the cockpit? :D

They are awesome xD''
And yes, i know >w<
I also got to go to the OshGosh air show *w* I got to fly a Piper Arrow airplane for an hour and a half around a lake because they had us on hold. it was too foggy for us to land.
And gosh... there is nothing, nothing like flying above(or through!) the clouds. Simply. Gorgeous.
